In the Age of Fire, when Light and darkness clash, the Flag of Peace becomes the essential symbol of a new human order. Under this banner, Beauty, Wisdom, Art, and all peoples will unite.”

Agni Yoga, Gerarchia, 377

An itinerary in the heart of the Himalayan India, dedicated to all peace builders and admirers of Nicholas Roerich’s work, on the 90th anniversary of the Roerich Pact, signed on April 15, 1935, in Washington by President Roosevelt and numerous nations, including Italy.

The group will start by attending an event in Darjeeling, located over 2000 meters high and facing the Kanchenjunga. From there, they will move to Kalimpong, to the home of Helena Roerich, Mother of Agni Yoga, where a 4-day workshop will explore themes of the journey and life projects.

After Easter celebrations, the group will fly to Delhi and travel to the other side of India, where the Roerichs lived between 1929 and 1949. The itinerary includes a same-day flight to Amritsar, the Sikh capital, to visit the magnificent Golden Temple at dawn. Then, by car, they will travel to Dharamsala, the current spiritual center of the Dalai Lama in exile. From Dharamsala, they will reach Naggar in the Kullu-Manali Valley, for a two-day visit to the International Roerich Memorial Trust (IRMT), the estate where the Roerichs lived for 20 years.

The journey will include the traveling Flag of Peace,

…which will accompany the group along the entire route. At Naggar, the group will meet representatives, visit the museum displaying 17 original paintings by Nicholas and Svetoslav Roerich, their home, and the Urusvati Research Institute.

The last stop is Chandigarh, the city designed by Le Corbusier. Built in the 1960s, it includes the famous parliament building and the large “Open Hand” sculpture, symbolizing openness to giving and receiving as a sign of Peace and Reconciliation.
