Franco Vaccari (Arezzo, 9 July 1952) is an Italian psychologist, academic, activist, founder and president of Rondine Cittadella della Pace.
Married with two children, he graduated in Psychology at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome. He is a professor at the Peace Studies course of the Pontifical Lateran University and practices as freelance psychologist. He founded and directs the “New Psychology Laboratory”, a center of research and action in the psychopedagogical field.
Vaccari has always had a leading role as a trainer in the world of associations, especially of a Catholic nature, in ecumenical and interreligious dialogue. Culminated activity in the experience of Rondine Cittadella della Pace, which he founded, where young internationals coming from conflict zones are trained for two years according to the “Rondine Method”, based on the creative transformation of conflict and the deconstruction of the idea of ​​the enemy.
Vaccari is the author of several popular and scientific publications, including “Metodo Rondine”, ed editorialist for “Avvenire” and “Toscana Oggi”.
He has held numerous academic lectures and seminars at Italian and international universities, in particularly in the United States, Canada, Georgia and Abkhazia.
