The Star Work in Support of Nations
The Star model, while rooted in the subtle world, is also of practical usefulness in various specific service work. One example is the use of the Star model in groups which work for the benefit of their nations.
Assagioli explained that just as individual aspirants must work on their personalities, in order for them eventually to become instruments for the soul, so too do we need a “psychosynthesis of nations”, a process which will enable the nation to express the qualities and purpose of its soul.
This pioneering work is being undertaken by a growing number of soul-aware people in many nations. And this was also the purpose for founding our German group: to support the soul of Germany and the increasing influx of the 4th ray – Germany’s soul ray.
From the beginning we knew we wanted to do this work as a Star. Due to our close connection with the Communty of Living Ethics, most of our group members already had many years of experience working with the seven rays in group formation.
Working with the seven rays allows us to lift our gaze to the heavens and connects us to a higher order and the laws of life. The model of the Seven Rays is of tremendous help in managing the group dynamics effectively and harmoniously and refining the group as an instrument. In a group, these Seven Rays or types work out as seven different group functions. Each member chooses one of these ray energies and cultivates it and works to embody its quality to make it available to the group. It is as if the colours in a prism or in a rainbow are suddenly put in order, and beauty and efficiency are established. It is an ongoing developmental process of each individual and our group to make our star shine ever more powerfully, lovingly and brightly.
Our name is Klangschale, which means singing bowl.
Our purpose statement reads:
„We make ourselves available as a singing bowl for the soul of Germany – absorbing the sound of the German soul, connecting it with the Earth, and sounding it forth.“
Sound and music, which we recognise as a significant element in connection with the German soul, plays a central part in our work. In our fortnightly meetings we also address German history, politics, culture and current events. We also work in regular cycles with the shadows of the German nation, since the self-realization of a nation, as with an individual, also requires a certain degree of inner integration and shadow work.
Here, astrology is a helpful tool for us to gain a deeper understanding of the nature of Germany, its challenges and tasks. Once or twice a year we meet physically for several days, and always on the Day of the Reunification of Germany. We experience these physical meetings as essential anchor points for deepening our group unity and our service.
We perceive the frequency of the 4th ray as the higher note of our star. The Fourth Ray expresses the energy of harmony through conflict and is connected to the qualities of beauty, intuition and art.
In its high expression, it “transforms conflict into creative tension” as R.Assagioli phrases it, or in E. Savoini’s words “restores peace between the parts and the whole, which appear separate and distant from each other, yet are identical in their essence.” – a quality that we believe is needed more than ever on earth.
We see our work as a kind of heart laboratory. Half of our group members live in Munich, which according to the Tibetan is the heart center of Germany. The heart energy has an important function in working with the souls of nations. In particular, it seems to us that Germany, with its soul of the fourth ray and its central position in Europe, should sound and radiate a heart note.
The longer we work with the German soul, the more our interest grows in recognizing Germany’s relationships with other nations, for example with neighboring countries or with the countries of Europe as a whole, and we also explore the possibilities that Germany could contribute to the European and world family in a formative, de-escalating and weaving way from its soul realisation. The kinship and cooperation with other 4th Ray nations, such as Brazil, Austria, India and Japan, could also be valuable.
Our star works in close cooperation with the star of the Hechal group from Jerusalem. We run together the “Creative Lab: ‘Awakening the Soul of our Nations'” https://www.2025initiative.org, which takes place once a month on the platform of the 2025 Initiative. In the Nations Lab, spiritual students from many nations come together every month, as a ‘council of elders-in-training’. We practice skills which may be required for the personnel of a soul-guided United Nations of the future, and apply them to situations on the planetary agenda.
We offer our bowl as a humble contribution to help Germany as a living being to take up its destined place and function, and cooperate in right relationship with the other nations for the benefit of all.
We hold the vision of a soul-led family of nations of the future – and the Star Work provides a subtle floor plan on which to envision a network of international relations oriented to the common good and the higher laws of life, a model for a future in the spirit of the New Age.
